Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix

The Outdoor Group was formed in 1991 by UUs who enjoy hiking and other outdoor activities and want to explore Arizona's beautiful and varied wilderness areas. Besides the obvious benefits of exercise and breathing clean air, hikes and other outings are a great way to get acquainted with other UUs.

Scheduled Hikes

Our hikes are usually scheduled for the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, plus New Year's Day. On a typical hike day we meet between 7 and 8 AM at a predetermined meeting place and carpool from there. We drive to the trailhead and hike for about 4-6 hours, usually breaking for lunch along the trail. We drive back to Phoenix, sometimes stopping for a snack or dinner on the way.
