- Date: Sunday, October 29, from noon to 12:45
- Location: Meet in the Sanctuary; tour the Memorial Garden
- Facilitator: Gary Ezzell
Come hear the stories behind the restful and sacred space that is UUCP’s Memorial Garden. The centerpiece is the sculpture, “That Which Might Have Been”, which honors the four girls killed in the 1963 Birmingham church bombing. Each one represents an aspect of the future they were denied, which will be described in the words of the sculptor, John Waddell. There are shaded benches memorializing beloved members, the quiet, sacred space where members’ ashes are interred, and other elements. We will meet in the Sanctuary at noon. It should be cooling by the end of October, but best to bring water.
Registration is not required for this class.
