UU Roots is for folks new to UUCP, those who are curious, or those who have been around for a while but maybe never learned all these things. The first class will cover the basics of UU history, the origin and symbolism of the Flaming Chalice, and how we came to be a faith with covenants and principles instead of a creed. The second class will cover UUCP history specifically, including our origins, why we are a “congregation” and not a “church”, and explain some of our traditions, such as the water and flower communions.
