The Civic Engagement group meets regularly to bring timely justice actions to each Sunday worship service. The group picks important issues for letters, postcards, petitions, and phone calls. The group also works with Puente, an immigrant rights organization, to support people in Arizona’s detention centers with pen pals and to show up for other actions as requested.

Civic Engagement also works with the UU Justice Arizona Network (UUJAZ) to coordinate and promote statewide justice efforts among UUs, including our annual UU Day at the Legislature. See the UUJAZ web page for more information or their Facebook page.

  • Become a petition circulator! In order to get sufficient signatures to get these initiatives on the ballot, we need LOTS of circulators. It’s not a hard thing to do — just carry a petition with you as you go about your day. Melinda Iyer will be offering a very short training, or just watch this video:

    • Pick up a Save Our Schools Act fact sheet

    • Pick up a wallet-sized card to keep track as you sign petitions!

  • UUTHEVOTE  2020
  • UU Day at the Legislature annually, on the third Monday in February (President’s Day), Usually 11 – 1 pm.
