UUCP is shifting our typical Sunday services to be in solidarity with this year’s Women’s March. The march is a family friendly, all-ages event that takes place at the AZ State Capitol. We will host a sign making party at UUCP on Saturday night, and we are also collaborating on a special women-led worship service for Sunday morning (including music from UUCP’s ReSisters). Rev. Margret will lead the two Sunday morning services at UUCP for those who are unable to attend the march. Details & information is below:

Saturday, January 20, 5:00 PM – Sign making and chant rehearsal @ UUCP.
Art supplies and poster board will be available. Bring extra supplies, paint stirring sticks, and clever ideas!

Sunday, January 21: Worship & March
8:00—9:00 AM (time change from 8:30)Multi-Faith, women-led service at First Church UCC (1407 N 2nd St. – 1 block east of the Burton Barr library). UUCP’s ReSisters will be singing, plus testimonies from women faith leaders and recognition of the #MeToo movement’s stories. Carpooling will be available after the service to the capitol.

10:00 AM – Gathering for Women’s March and Rally at the Arizona State Capitol (1700 W Washington St.). Based on last year, this will be a large event with thousands of people. UUCP folks will try to gather together on the grass at the SW corner of 7th Ave and Adams St. Look for our new yellow “Side of Love” banner. Capitol parking will fill fast – extra parking is available on Adams St between 12th Ave and 15th Ave.
The march starts at 11:00, the route is planned to be a 2 mile loop. Wear comfortable clothes, bring water and a snack or some extra cash for food vendors. Sunday is supposed to be chilly – 62° and breezy. Events at the capitol should go until 4:00 PM.

9:30 AM & 11:15 AM – Standard Worship Services at UUCP
