The Outdoor Group will be on hiatus for the summer. Whether we start back up in the fall depends on you. I will be stepping down as leader of the group. Barbara Seltzer has offered to step up as co-leader. We need someone else who is willing to help Barbara lead this group going forward. I will be happy to share all I know. This is a wonderful group and a great way to get to know people while having a good time. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time leading this group, but it is time to step back and let someone else take the lead. Consider being the one!

The Outdoor Group campout outside of Tusayan was a success! We had 13 people gather from Friday through Monday. The 70ish weather during the day was perfect for hiking the Rim Trail of the Grand Canyon or staying at the campsite to take advantage of hammock time. The cool night temperatures were mitigated with a beautiful gas “turn on-turn off” campfire.  Saturday night we enjoyed a hotdog roast, albeit from the barbecue instead of the campfire. It always amazes me how delightful and diverse the dishes are when UUs are told to bring something to share. The side dishes were deeeeelish! No s’mores, but ice cream sundaes proved to be just as popular, if not more so.

Thank you to all the hike leaders who helped make this season a real success! Thank you to all the hikers who made this season so much fun!
