Each year the Unitarian Universalist Association suggests a book to be read throughout the UUA. This year’s selection is On Repentance and Repair: Making Amends in an Unapologetic World by Danya Ruttenberg.

This Common Read explores how one of our faith’s foundational resources, Judaism, teaches that the obligation of the perpetrator of harm to repent is more important than any obligation of the victim to forgive. We will follow Rabbi Ruttenberg into a framework for making amends offered by the 12th century Jewish physician and scholar, Maimonides.

Come explore practices for accountability that can bring us into wholeness and really make a difference in our personal, community, and national relationships.

Registration is recommended, but not required.

The book is available at Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix and Tempe, as well as at the UUA inSpirit Bookstore at a cost of $18.
