This team contributes to a culture of safety at UUCP by developing, communicating, and training emergency responses to threats to the lives and health of our congregation and visitors, and our facilities and campus.

Our activities include:

  • Assisting the Board and Minister in defining, communicating, and maintaining overall safety at UUCP, with sensitivity to and incorporation of the perspectives of minority and marginalized populations.
  • Developing policies, procedures, protocols, plans, and best practices related to the physical safety of our campus (i.e. property and life and health of our constituents), as well as reviewing and updating these policies, etc., regularly to assure accuracy and currency.
  • Communicating the above to ensure staff and member familiarity, understanding, and ability to carry out emergency plans and protocols as needed.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date, easily retrievable (online and paper “downtime” versions) Emergency Response Manual.
