The train pulls into the UUCP station November 11 beginning at 5:00pm. Put this on your calendar now. This year’s event is not only a FUNdraiser; we’re also calling it a FRIENDraiser. Feel free to invite some friends and members we haven’t seen in a while to join us for some pizza, cookies, drinks, and the antics of our beloved auctioneers Sam and Duke!
What We Need From YOU!
As in years past, we are looking for folks to donate prizes to be auctioned off. This list of ideas for auction items can help you as well as give you inspiration to come up with something of your own. We welcome donations of events, services, physical items, and gift cards of any value.
Events
If you opt to have an event at your home for however many people you are comfortable with, and if it is important to you, you may ask folks to indicate whether they are vaccinated or not. We will help make it fun and safe for everyone involved. Also, events don’t have to be held at your home—you could host two or more people at a sporting event or arrange brunch at a restaurant or cafe, host an event at a park, or even reserve space at UUCP. Let your imagination be your guide!
Physical Items
We will also be accepting physical items. Please fill out the donation form for the item you wish to donate, and someone will respond with information on how to proceed. Please keep in mind that this is not a rummage sale.
Services
Services are also a welcome donation. You could offer gift wrapping services, provide online or in-person computer tutoring, or even just be available to drive a congregation member to and from an appointment. Creative thinking here is welcomed!
Gift Cards – Raffle
If you can’t donate an event, physical item or service, perhaps you would be able to donate a gift card of any value for our raffle drawings? They can be for restaurants, entertainment, experiences—please choose one that is widely available around the valley. Even a $5 gift card can help make a difference in the success of this event.
Your Time
We will need volunteers the day of the event. Stay tuned for details about the volunteer opportunities and how to sign up!
Donation Deadline
We will be gathering donations through Wednesday, November 1, but we are asking that your submit your donation as soon as possible to help us get the train to the station on time.
