The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix strives to be a spiritual community for our time, focused on diverse theological perspectives, radical inclusion, and knowing that issues of justice and equity shape everything we do.

With a special awareness for those who have been historically marginalized, we welcome all, of every race, class, ethnicity, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious background, mental and physical ability and disability. We welcome your whole self, your family into our worship as we build a community of caring, courage, and hope.

We are passionate about anti-racism, anti-oppression, equality, and justice work. Social justice is not just a component of our ministry; it is embedded into every part of us. We strive for a multicultural anti-oppression presence in every aspect of what we do, including worship, outreach, and even committee work.

Making Good Trouble

UU the Vote logo, UUCP phoenix logo, "Make Good Trouble with UUCP!" on a gold background

The Good Trouble Train is gaining speed. Wooo, Wooo! Thanks to all the wonderful UUCP participants who are making a difference for the 2022 election. Shout out to Cindi Matcha, Joann Pamperin, Linda Vance, Sandy Weir, Gary Ezzell, Catherine Kopec, Jenny Jones, Barbara Cawthorne, and Barbara Rodman for reporting their election-related activities. Extra kudos to Melinda Iyer, for her role in Save our Schools and for reporting 4500 texts on behalf of SOS!

Good News: The UUA has agreed to include work on all ballot initiatives (including the 2024 SOS initiative) toward our Congregational Good Trouble status. If you have gathered signatures, canvassed, texted, or phone banked for AZ4FE, Stop Dark Money, Healthcare Rising, and/or Save Our Schools, please report your activity to goodtrouble@phoenixuu.org, along with any other election related activities you haven’t yet reported. You can find more info on what activities count toward Good Trouble Status on the UU the Vote site.

Coming up in September:

  • September 6: Phone Banking Training and Workshop. Join us from 6:30 to 8:00pm for a Zoom phone bank. Meeting ID: 831 5938 2405 | Passcode: 100301
  • September 25: In-person Letter Writing/Postcard Party after the worship service. More details to come.

Note: Let us know if you work with a non-partisan organization that needs help with any voter related activities, and we will get the word out! We still have room in the Good Trouble group; please reach out to us for additional information: goodtrouble@phoenixuu.org
