Happy New year to everyone in our UUCP Navigators group. We ended our 2022 year with a beautiful Solstice fire! Thanks to everyone that joined us and special thanks to Len and Stephanie for hosting. We are pleased to announce a few Navigators updates for the months of January and February. We will have our first off campus hike in January and hope to see lots of you there. In February we will have two in persyn events. Below you will find brief details for all of the events. In the weeks leading up to all of the events, more information will be provided.
Upcoming Events:
- Monday, January 23rd at 6:00pm, online Zoom meeting to prepare for our hike and welcome any new members to the hike.
- Saturday, January 28th at 10:00am at Jewel of the Creek Preserve.
Jewel of the Creek Preserve Hike:
Join us for an all ages family friendly hike at Jewel of the Creek Preserve. The hike will highlight plants and trees of Arizona riparian plant communities as well as classic desert flora and fauna. We will also discuss what a plant community is and the importance of conservation and diversity of our desert plant communities. Prior to our hike we will also have a brief topographic map and compass orientation to better familiarize ourselves with our terrain.

Navigators Social Meetup and Brainstorming:
- Monday, February 13th at 6:00pm in the Johnson Room and on the Patio.
- Saturday, February 28th at 5:00pm, family friendly hike at Gilbert Riparian Preserve and possible star gazing at the observatory if clouds agree.
