A picture of the Arizona Desert.

Thank you everyone that made it to our first meeting of the year. We are excited about our upcoming hike this weekend. This is going to be our very first off campus hike since our group has existed. It is great to finally reach a point where we can come together and enjoy our connection to the outdoors together as a group.

If you plan to attend our hike this Saturday and did not attend the Zoom meeting on Monday night, please email the following information to: jezzputnam@phoenixuu.org

  • Best cell phone number to reach you at.
  • A rough list of how many attendees you plan to have with you.

In case you missed the details for our hike this weekend, information is provided below.

Saturday, January 28, 10am at Jewel of the Creek Preserve:
Join us for an all ages family friendly hike at Jewel of the Creek Preserve. The hike will highlight plants and trees of Arizona riparian plant communities as well as classic desert flora and fauna. We will also discuss what a plant community is and the importance of conservation and diversity of our desert plant communities. Prior to our hike we will also have a brief topographic map and compass orientation to better familiarize ourselves with our terrain.
