We need at least two weeks of Earth Day. After all, our earth is on fire due to human activity. Report after report says that our window to do something about it is quickly closing. I am truly concerned that we humans don’t have the will to do what it takes to change the course of climate change.

Those of us of conscience and who believe in science and reason are compelled to talk about this, research it and act. That is why I don’t believe we can have just one week to celebrate Earth Day.

Last Sunday we had Jim Scott sing, tell stories and share photos of our earthly plight. This Sunday, we will listen to the words of Amanda Gorman in her poem Earth Rise. We will dig deeply into her brilliant words to find our motivation and inspiration for action.

Truthfully, if we talked about the earth every week, it wouldn’t be enough. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
