The next UUCP Book Discussion Group meeting will be in Annex B at 9:00am on Sunday, May 19. The group will discuss Chapters Seven and Eight in The Pursuit of Happiness: How Classical Writers on Virtue Inspired the Founders and and Defined America by Jeffrey Rosen. Chapter Five is titled, “Resolution.” Chapter Six is titled, “ Moderation.”
The founding fathers believed that individuals and governments needed to use reason to overcome passions. These chapters discuss George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and James Madison.
