Hiking season is here, so dust off your boots and join the Outdoor Group to kick it off! Get the blood flowing and connect or re-connect with fellow UUers. The first hike will be at Spur Cross Ranch near the town of Cave Creek on Saturday, October 8. We’ll do the Metate/Spur Cross loop, with side trips. It’s a mellow affair suitable for everyone. Look at the flyer online for more information.
We’ll weave through the bosque along Cave Creek and check out some huge wrapped-arm Saguaros. Of course, there’ll be wonderful views of mesas, mountains, and valleys. Total distance is about 3.4 miles with an elevation gain/loss of 170 feet. Jack Rabbits are welcome to do the more challenging route of Dragonfly/Spur Cross.
