UUCP’s service on Sunday, March 27, features jazz by vocalist Renee Patrick and pianist Nicole Pesce. Renee is a powerful, personal singer. Her father was a member of the legendary doo wop group the Ink Spots, her mother sang in Motown, and Renee includes their songs in her performances. Pianist Nicole Pesce has played at UUCP several times this year. With a repertoire of over 12,000 memorized songs, Nicole is often called “the human iPod” and was named “one of the top ten musicians to hear in Phoenix” by the Arizona Republic. Together, they are 2/3 of the group We3, which performs regularly throughout Phoenix. Here’s a video of “Summertime” from a concert they livestreamed last year.
