The UUCP Share The Plate committee would like to introduce you to Project Roots. The mission of this non-profit organization based in Phoenix, AZ, is to nourish and educate communities in need by promoting a healthier, natural, and more sustainable way of urban living.

Co-founded by Bridget Pettis and Arizona Native Dionne Washington in late 2019, Project Roots focuses on ways to educate the community about growing their own food. They support the homeless and those with food insecurities by feeding them from local community gardens and mobile kitchen service, supplying hygiene items, clothing, and shelter. Project Roots also offers product bag delivery services and can be found at Farmer’s Markets throughout the valley.
